My story
I spent about the first 50 years (I’m older than I look) of my life believing my existence on this planet was some kind of mistake. That’s what I was led to believe, and when you have no evidence to the contrary, it’s very difficult to believe anything other than what you’ve been told.
Long story short, I figured out, bit by bit, that there are no mistakes in the cosmic order of things. No, God doesn’t make mistakes, and it was up to me to figure out why I was put here. And bit by bit, I figured out that what I’d always thought was my handicap–the rejection I’d grown up with–was actually my greatest gift. Because, you see, I could use that experience to help other people…perhaps you.
After earning my degree in biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, I worked for a few years in quality control for a pharmaceutical company, then went back to school briefly to study graphic art. For many years, I wondered what I should do with my understanding of science.
In the meantime, I became a writer, copywriter, and Internet marketer, authoring hundreds of articles on marketing, as well as other subjects such as health and pet care, and several short stories, essays, and e-books. I helped people write their life stories. And I’ve recently published a novel, Touching the Brilliance of Sunrise. (It’s available at Amazon as well as my copywriting websitewww.justrightcopy.com/books.)
Well, eventually, everything came together. I’ve become newly fascinated with brain science; one of my favorite books is The New Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz. My emotional healing philosophy is influenced by this and the other books listed in “Works Cited and for Further Reading” at the end of Help! I Need a Hug,as well as the Bible and teachings on the Law of Attraction.
Besides the pharmaceutical industry, I’ve enjoyed some teaching positions, held leadership positions in large churches, and enjoyed volunteering for causes including animals, disabled children, literacy, and historical preservation.
I’m listed in Who’s Who in America 2005® and Who’s Who Among American Women 2006®. When I’m not working on my various writing, marketing, and website projects, I enjoy reading, art, music, animals, outdoor activities, and Renaissance Faires. Oh, one more thing–I’m a member of Toastmasters and am learning the art of public speaking.
